TOMMY

Tuesday 8th March 2022

Tommy had a successful trial in an experienced home where he will be trained as a Gundog. He settled in very well into his new surroundings, family and dogs...He's met the local birds (of the feathered kind) and sheep and has taken it all in his stride! Tommy has started some basic training and is really starting to focus on his owner. Their son is also actively involved with the dogs. Social skills have come into play with visits to the local pub where Tommy has been well received.. Big life change for this little one but the right change. Tommy has the chance to move forward and be the dog he was bred to…

The Reality of Rescue

Wednesday 2nd March 2022

Today we said Goodbye to a beautiful young Pup aged just 15 weeks old. Her time with us was so short but we knew instantly on receiving her that pain ravaged her little skeletal body and her eyes searched for comfort for the pain she was in. A young pup unable to defecate and would cry in pain on trying to lift her to sooth her, she was unable to find a comfortable position to alleviate her pain and her cries were pitiful.....So terribly sad for everyone involved...Heartbreakingly Sad!!!! Questions asked had we had her sooner would the outcome have been different?.... the answer was maybe but probably not..... . I and the people involved have cried loads this afternoon…

Holly the beautiful Brittany has had a successful trial period and has her own home with a lady experienced with the breed... She has trained her own Brittany Noomi who is very well behaved with great recall and was looking for another Brittany to join them and wanted a black and white one ... Holly's timing was perfect . Many of you will remember the photo of Holly and the Cocker spaniel we called Berry after being dumped in an appalling state .. both had mange , underweight, eye and ear infections ... thankfully Holly being the younger one had not been bred from .. ! Look at her Now !! Wow! There was something special about Holly.. such…

DAISY

Wednesday 23rd February 2022

Beautiful Daisy has been adopted .. Daisy had a successful trial period with a couple who adopted Lucy the Cocker Spaniel from us three years ago ( how time flies). You may remember Daisy was very traumatised when she arrived here in October last year and it took a long time before she was accepting of us touching her, she had been a breeding bitch and was one very shut down girl ! Daisy loved Eli the lab and formed a strong bond with him .. wherever he went she would follow .. (he put up with it)! She formed an attachment with all the dogs and this became her security enabling her to move forward slowly…

KYE / Week 1

Monday 21st February 2022

Kye Week One Kye has settled in very well and is enjoying the companionship of the dogs, over this past week he has learned to relax in play and plays well... Sleeps sound at night downstairs , eats well and looks forward to meal times eating in the kitchen with the dogs and will sit and wait until his name is called. Outside we have allowed him to explore and play..at the moment its all about him getting to know and trust us and vice versa! I discovered he was quite anxious when first out for walks constantly looking up at me or looking back... not keen on the vehicle and when asked to jump in on day 2…

KYE

Wednesday 16th February 2022

New boy Kye arrived yesterday aged 2years 6 months ... We were asked early January for help but at the time I had quite a few dogs that I had to honour and rehome before taking in anymore ... we were contacted again 10 days ago as they were concerned for their safety and his future .... Kye has come in with a bite history, fear aggression and separation anxiety... For the next couple of weeks he will learn how to be a dog, learn to play and interact with a well balanced pack and watch how our dogs interact with us and us with them ... Completely de stress in a calm household with firm boundaries...! Last night…
