STEPPING STONES Its Time for you to leave My Friend, It's time for pastures new, My work with you is done My Friend, Go forward and be YOU... We stood together on that Stone and each day you grew stronger, We crossed so many Stepping Stones till you needed me no longer. Marley was successfully rehomed to a wonderful couple very experienced with the breed and also had several Spaniels which for him was perfect. He is a very happy boy who has moved on from the traumatic time he had. He certainly is one lucky boy.
GRASS SEEDS Marley (Part 1)
Monday 6th April 2020
Drawing Attention to GRASS SEEDS after last year we took in an Emaciated Dehydrated Young Male Spaniel in 2019 whom we named Marley. Marley had great difficulty walking and was in a pretty bad way. He was seen immediately by our vet who kept him in to a) get fluids in to him b) to start a refeeding programme and c) begin the process of removing the grass seeds deeply embedded in his paws an legs..... Marley underwent an operation to remove 52 Seeds, after a couple of days he came back to us to focus on his recovery and weight gain. He sought comfort from being with the pack and they became his security,…
ENTROPION...
Wednesday 1st April 2020
Entropion....Where the eyelid rolls in towards the eyeball, causing fur and eyelashes to damage the eyeball. Left untreated entropion can cause severe pain and scarring of the eyeball. Holly the red Cocker Spaniel came to us aged 11 weeks old with severe Entropion in both eyes. Both top and bottom eyelids curled inwards and her eyes were little slits on arrival with weeping eyes! She underwent 3 tackings on both upper and lower lids over a period of 4 months and became known as Holly AKA Betty Boo with her blue Tackings! She has gone forward and is now a licenced Police Dog with Avon & Somerset Police and is now known as PD Holly. Baxter the liver Cocker Spaniel…
Bella
Tuesday 31st March 2020
Many of our followers will remember Bella the beautiful Roan Spaniel who had us so worried the end of January with Toxic Poisoning! The journey was horrendous ..Bella was placed on Critical Care.... Many days and nights spent crying over this girl and on two occasions I was told to have the phone by my bed... Jill Mears, Ruth Lamb, Lin Iddon were my shoulders to cry on during this awful time and all 3 were 100% supportive , encouraging , and hopeful ...An appeal from my heart went out one night before I went to bed .. I did not know what to say ... but I was amazed and humbled to see that overnight £2,500 had been donated…
Maisie
Monday 30th March 2020
Maisie scores the hat trick ...All dogs that were out on trial pre Covid 19 Lock down have been adopted... This stunning girl has been adopted by a lady knowledgable of the breed, Pre the trial period we were able to go for a walk together with the previous owner and also introduce another dog on the walk so we could see how Maisie adapted to other dogs which was important for the person adopting to see.... This afternoon we have spoken and I am pleased to say it's a match. This was a difficult decision for the previous owner to make and it was important they were involved and having told them the good news this afternoon they are delighted. Once restrictions…
Rosie
Sunday 29th March 2020
Beautiful Rosie has passed her trial period with a wonderful couple who have a lot of time to spend with her.... Rosie took a long time to gain trust and to know everything would be ok.. The fear she had of other people was sad to witness, and I think I said at the very beginning when she arrived she looked as though she had the weight of the world on her shoulders.... I became very close to Rosie and Peter did say I could keep her...but she needed her own family and lots of love coming her her way.... Rosie is a very deep dog with an incredible personality and will give her all to her new owners. They…

Registered Charity
Thursday 19th March 2020
Amidst all the doom and gloom with the Coronavirus (Covid-19) We have something very special to announce ...... Over the past 8 months we have been working hard to become a Registered Charity. There are people that charge a fee to do this for you but we felt that fee was best spent on the dogs we work with ... therefore we went through the process of application ourselves. We have satisfied the Charity Commission and today received our Registered Charity Number Thank you to my husband who worked tirelessly on our application and also fellow trustees for becoming part of a united team ready to expand. I am so very proud ... My passion has turned into something wonderful and Buddy’s name…

Ruby
Sunday 8th March 2020
Never under estimate the age of someone!!!!! On arrival the gentleman of the house met me with a firm handshake and a fabulous warm smile and said she's in there and really excited...Ruby followed me in and straight in to the arms of an equally warm smiling lady as though she knew this was her special day! Pip the resident 8 year old Spaniel and Ruby made friends immediately..... I was intrigued to meet this lady as she made me laugh on the phone when I asked had she thought about the future of Ruby should anything happen to them health wise and her reply was 'oh yes I have been reading all about you and the dog will come back…
Rosie
Saturday 7th March 2020
This Beautiful girl went on her 2 week trial today.... Major 'OUCH' moment as I have worked with Rosie for a long time, I have seen her fears and watched her build in confidence and physical strength ….. Her biggest fear is People which tells you a lot. Her future will be all about TRUST in order for her to move forward, also the people handling her are experienced and knowledgeable of the breed recognising the potential within . I feel this home she is in has everything to offer her. Look out for a further update
