Update on Puppy Rosco

Friday 13th May 2022

He is very poorly and prognosis is not good !
He was one of 5 puppy's found in a cardboard box and went down hill very quickly .. blood sugar was dangerously low and he was severely dehydrated! Perked up pre transport to us and was classed fit to travel .. sadly half way he crashed and Megan had to act fast and get him to the nearest vet which was Elston Veterinary Clinic , Shrewton in Wiltshire.. Roscoe was lifeless and RSPCA Woking Branch asked them not to give up but to to do Everything possible to give him a fighting chance .. and they did .. Vet Nurse Jude took him home with her that night and attended to him every two hours ... This morning as I was on my way to pick Rosco up Jude called me to say he had been doing well then suddenly crashed this morning ... severe diarrhoea and his blood sugar was very low just as he had yesterday ... he crashed again pre my arrival .... The vet wanted to ensure Rosco was topped up and safe to travel 1.5 hours to our vets (Yatton Vets) plus they gave me a syringe of honey for an emergency !!
I forwarded an ETA to our vets .. stopped twice on our journey to check him to make sure he was still with us ... and breathed a sigh of relief when I got to our vets ...
Rosco was severely dehydrated, A vein could not be found to put fluids in and the original line was not flushing through .. legs and ears were tried without success and the fluids had to be injected into his abdomen ... He was placed under sedation this afternoon to put a line in to his bone ... bloods were also taken and results reveal they are off the scale ... His WBC count is very low signifying possible Infection , bone marrow abnormality, Sepsis!
Tonight he is on a drip, incubated , warm and cosy with Head Vet Nurse Nigel who will stay with him at the surgery tonight.. and update me in the morning
Rosco is a fighter .. he is having set backs but there is a fight in him
He has had many people hands on with their skills willing him to survive ..
Elston Vets..... Thank you so much for taking on board this pups life and working with him (RSPCA Woking) and I have you on our Emergency vet list ... and we will update you
To you the public please pray for Rosco to pull through ..
he never asked for this .. he was a pawn In a game for those who do not give a dam ...
BUT WE DO !
