Jake is growing into a lovely young pup.. He is a happy boy mixing with a couple of dogs at a time , climbing all over Dinky who will now tell him off... The others make out they want to play but in essence they want to steal his toys 😂. It's so important he learns from the dogs now as he enters the next stage..... Hand reared puppies can be a problem as they miss the important nurturing from their mothers and can go on to develop problems including separation anxiety, guarding, biting ....this is where the dogs will help him and teach him dog etiquette but the most important dog to Jake is Dinky ..…

The little man continues to thrive and is doing very well ... the intense worming programme is finally working. (Hurrah!). Not enjoying his malaseb baths but a noticeable difference on his skin and new hair growth ... Downstairs in pen all day in the hub of the house .. Little Jake is on the up ❤️ DNA Results will be another couple of weeks ...

Update on Little Jake ( Week 3). Aged approx 6weeks . Today we have brought Jake down stairs into the kitchen where he will spend some time getting used to the sounds of everyday life also the dogs .. although still very tiny he has almost tripled his weight since his arrival three weeks ago weighing in at 31oz The puncture wound on his shoulder has completely healed and new hair growth visible. His head also has new hair growth. The bald spots that were on his right hand side have almost covered leaving just a few on his left side... Initial treatment started two weeks ago with Advocat plus small baths with Malaseb shampoo twice weekly.…
BRACKEN UPDATE

ONE WHOLE YEAR AND STILL MISSING.... A day that started off great, out early with the dogs as my day was planned to paint our daughters bedroom.....Pete took the dogs out mid day then called to tell me Bracken had been missing for an hour.......Bracken never came home....none of this made sense as he knows the area so well! We did everything we could, with a team that took over everything getting Brackens profile out on social media so I could concentrate on finding my dog. Brackens name went far and wide and I would like to Thank everyone who still look out for Bracken.... (The photograph of Bracken in the heathers I took that morning...) Freddie had a successful viewing and trial period. Freddie went to Julie Warboys who offered help and training for BRAR... He arrived with a history which we had in full from owners and were fully aware of his past and the type of environment we sought for this boy... Freddie proved to be a very popular boy and had a successful Viewing at a fabulous Country, Equestrian, Shooting Estate Home. As soon as he jumped out of the vehicle he was one happy boy making a great impression with everyone. Trial period was successful with a statement .. we love him he is such a lovely boy ! A successful Viewing and Trial period for the beautiful Sapphie who has adapted so well to her new home and loving the rural country life. A biddable lovely girl with a wonderful temperament having made new canine friends friends within her community. Sapphie will also be introduced to the local shoot and given the chance to join the beaters team.. A rock steady girl who will shine. Fabulous home, Wonderful Couple who welcomed Sapphie into their lives having fallen in love with her before I left. Sapphie you were an absolute joy . I enjoyed your time with us. Go forward and enjoy your new life. Be Happy x

From No Hope ....To Hope (2 weeks in) At the start of our journey I was frightened to open the door to my office... next to our bedroom... because I knew Jakes chances of survival were slim ... but as the days went by each time I opened the door I saw this little boy eagerly awaiting his feed ... Today our vet ( Yatton Vets) saw Jake 2 weeks after initial visit and was overjoyed and amazed at the puppy before her having doubled in size ! There is a skin condition going on which was prominent from the onset and has been treated so hoping we stop this in its tracks. Second dose of worming…

Massive leap forward this evening with young Jessie... the most frightened pup ! After a couple of days of being totally ignored by us.. back door open so she is free to the back garden , kitchen and hallway. No pressure and no demands on her ....this evening I laid on the floor near the bed she feels most comfortable on .. and she approached me .. and allowed me to stroke her without wanting to cower and dart away ... Proud moment! I fear what little handling they have had has been In the line of being grabbed so naturally they want to run away ... These girls need to know it's safe to come forward…

Jake continues to gain weight daily ❤️ His recorded weight on arrival was 10.8oz, he now weighs 20.25 (almost doubled his weight) so going in the right direction .. We have introduced him to our own puppy food soaked and ready for the days 4 hourly feeds combined with puppy milk. He is now taking this from a small bowl .. Body functions are good and all looks healthy. Jake makes the most endearing sounds. Wags his tail, Is becoming playful for short periods , loves his cuddles, and loves Dinky .. Another 3 days of worming due towards end of week... All in all the little one is doing great ...

It is with great sadness we announce the passing of Benson known as Ben ... a lovely boy that came here after doing his 7 days with the Dog Warden , no microchip .. we advertised Ben for a further 28 days in the hope of finding his owners but no one ever came forward.. Our thoughts are with Rosemary & Phil who adopted Ben in January 2018 after having him in their home over Christmas and fell in love with him.... they gave him the most wonderful life filled with unconditional love ...he adapted very well to his new home and loved the outdoor life.. and he will be very much missed ...

Little Jake's future is looking positive daily... Yesterday he weighed in at 16.2oz .... A healthy weight gain since his arrival.. Thank you so much to everyone for your love and support for this little one .
