Willow & Suzie

Willow & Suzie

Sunday 6th November 2022

I have made the decision to withdraw both Willow & Suzie from Adoption. ( Mother & Daughter)
The girls are suffering from Severe to Chronic Arthritis which has a massive impact on both their lives, and it would be unfair to expect anyone to take these girls in to their homes knowing that their condition will get worse.
Willow is with Clair the owner of Chapel Farm Physio & Hydrotherapy Centre. Willow is approx 6 years old and has undergone Xrays and CT scan to reveal chronic arthritis with instability in her left shoulder, bone on bone contact! her report is a lot more in depth and does not make for good reading... As explained by our vet we could look at full shoulder reconstruction which would be a highly specialist procedure with no guarantee it would work. Alternatively, we look at Pain management for the rest of her life.
Suzie aged approx 3 years is with me and her xrays revealed severe arthritis in every joint of her body, she is a very tense rigid little girl who has had little to no previous handling, touch for her signifies pain hence her reaction to people (as in snatching.dont touch me and has now been muzzle trained)
Very sad for both girls especially Willow.
Clair has made the decision to be a long-term foster for Willow as 1. She and her family adore Willow and her daughter and Willow have become very close friends. 2. Willow adores them and is so happy where she is and settled. 3. Willow could not be better placed as she is surrounded by a team of Professional Physio and Hydro therapists.
Peter and I both feel that it is also in Suzie's best interest to stay here as she is settled, she is very untrusting of people and is a quirky little girl. Her life will also be managed with pain relief and with Chapel Farm just up the road we are also in a good position to help Suzie....
After all, that's what we do....
We have all agreed that the girls have been through enough having been bred from in this condition. Arriving here with no muscle tone, underweight, in poor condition, matted and smelly I am sure you get the picture. What is seriously concerning is how many puppies have they had, and where are they as the chances are they will also have the same condition.
the girls are 3 and 6 years old in the bodies of a 90/100 year old..Thats the reality!
I sincerely hope this reaches out to many people.
Research where you get your next dog from
Please stop buying puppies from unknown sources. They make the money whilst we pick up their broken often traumatised dogs.
