My personal journey ended with Jake as he left me last week for a whole new life ... Jake has settled into his new home so well, he was running round exploring everywhere, confident and happy. Meeting Jess the resident dog went very well and the two have become very close ... It was so important for Jake to have a steady confident role model and he certainly has that in Jess who is wonderful with him. (Jess is also a Rescue) Fabulous home, Lovely knowledgeable people, who already love and adore Jake, and as they said this morning Jake is already a part of their lives. Due to the sheer volume of applications for Jake we have to close the application process as it is going to take a while to read and re-read everyone's emails. A post I have not looked forward to writing..... Many of you have said keep him ... but it's not that simple ! I wish I could keep so many of the dogs I Re-home but that is not what we are about! My role is to work with the dogs from whatever background they come from and prepare them for a future life within a home where they will settle forever ! There are many heartbreakers along the way and yes I shed tears .. but the knowledge they go forward to the right environment speaks volumes and this is what we are all about ..... Puppy Jake DOB. This morning Jake was Microchipped & Vaccinated. It was lovely to see Vet Ciara at Yatton Vets who was thrilled to see how well Jake looked as she saw him at the beginning of his journey ... Health Examination revealed a fit healthy little pup !! Lots of puppy cuddles all round! Standing 9" tall and weighing in at 2.7kg This little Cockerdale Puppy has come a long way ❤️

Think you can clearly see the Patterdale in Jake now. All dogs clear from kennel Cough (Hurrah!!) Nice covering of puppy fat on him now so ready next week for first vaccinations and microchip... Weighing 2.5 kg he is a picture of health and has come a long way since his arrival here ! Mixing with all the dogs and reading body language very well ! Jake enjoys the freedom downstairs , running out into the garden and exploring ... typical happy puppy!! Feeds have dropped from 4 down to 3 and coping very well .. he gets excited and starts licking his lips and doing a little dance ....eats with all the dogs am and pm! Loves his…

Jakes Journey .... It's now 7 weeks since Jake came to us aged approx 2-3 weeks old ... he is developing into a very handsome cheeky boy! Now aged between 9-10 weeks and mixing happily alongside the others ... They have all been incredible with him and now they are teaching him some manners. Special mention has to go to Dinky aged 13 years who has been and is one in a million who has nurtured Jake from the beginning. Last week we were struck with Kennel Cough which apparently is rife in the area... Jake did get it but has it mildly with a little coughing early evening .. and is clear during the day and…

Weekly Update Jake continues to grow in huge leaps and now weighs 66oz (4lb). It was not so long ago we were willing him to reach 1lb in weight !! He now has folds of skin all over his body to fill which I am sure he will do pretty soon! Last week he expelled many dead worms which was a relief and now we are seeing a huge improvement in his skin/coat ....you can also see the mange has gone from around his eyes and face showing the very handsome boy he is ...very settled in a routine and I have to say is a little superstar... The DNA Results are now in .... My husband has maintained all the way that there is Cocker Spaniel in Jake .. I leaned more to Parsons Terrier x Patterdale .. although at the start I saw chihuahua with spaniel ears !!! Every day Jake has changed and everyday he gets stronger Tomorrow he will have been with us 5 weeks ... what a journey ... making him now 7-8 weeks old

Jake is growing into a lovely young pup.. He is a happy boy mixing with a couple of dogs at a time , climbing all over Dinky who will now tell him off... The others make out they want to play but in essence they want to steal his toys 😂. It's so important he learns from the dogs now as he enters the next stage..... Hand reared puppies can be a problem as they miss the important nurturing from their mothers and can go on to develop problems including separation anxiety, guarding, biting ....this is where the dogs will help him and teach him dog etiquette but the most important dog to Jake is Dinky ..…

On the 9th September it will be 4 weeks ago that this young pup came to us..... From No Hope to Hope and a mile stone achieved. A short video in pictures says it all really.... Music is titled : I am small and Mighty Dinky aged 13 years next week has been amazing. she has nurtured Jake from the start and given him comfort, warmth and a beating heart to lie beside......

The little man continues to thrive and is doing very well ... the intense worming programme is finally working. (Hurrah!). Not enjoying his malaseb baths but a noticeable difference on his skin and new hair growth ... Downstairs in pen all day in the hub of the house .. Little Jake is on the up ❤️ DNA Results will be another couple of weeks ...
