A Helping Hand for Grace
Thursday 4th February 2021
Within Canine Rescue we are all striving towards the same goal and that is to Rescue, Rehabilitate, & Rehome Dogs, To enrich their lives and place them in suitable environments.....Be they Working or Pet. Most Rescues are run by people so dedicated to their cause and will finance from their own pocket if it came to the crunch! 2020 has been a Strange Year with Covid-19 and at the same time everyone wanting puppies/young dogs willing to pay extortionate prices means many rescues are struggling to survive. BRAR are proud to help Happily Ever After Dog and Cat Rescue, a small Rescue that needs a little bit of help ... We are all working towards the same goal. Happily Ever…
BRACKEN UPDATE
Sunday 15th November 2020
2 and a half months have passed with no sighting of Bracken.. As a family we are truly Broken and the pain is unbelievable. Something/Someone stopped Bracken from returning.. he would never not come back. Pack leader, Pack protector, always making sure there was harmony and helping the many troubled dogs that came our way, (Video on facebook as unable to upload here) Over 20 years plus we have walked that land and some of the photos in this video are taken on the very land adjacent to where he disappeared from. We have never encountered any problems until September 1st 2020... A rural off the beaten track area! We have offered a £5000 Reward for the safe return…
Holly Update
Saturday 7th November 2020
Perfect Home choice for the beautiful Holly who has gone forward to a wonderful couple who fell in love with Holly at first sight...After a two week trial it was a definite Yes she would be staying. This morning I called round to see them and both Holly & Willow were walking round with their toys in their mouth wagging their tails and it felt as though Holly had been here forever. Her confidence has grown, her muscle tone looked great, her tummy had lifted up and she looked amazing, fit, healthy and very happy. From one frightened girl to now developing her own character... Holly.. I am so pleased that we were able to help you move forwards, show…
Cat In Need of help...
Friday 6th November 2020
Yesterday I was contacted by a good friend in a neighbouring village Litton area regarding an injured cat that had been mentioned to her with a neck wound ... I went down with a trap which was set and the cat was caught during the night .. A young feral who was in a poorly state ....in the trap he was quite feisty but that was pure fear .. we managed to transfer him to a cat crusher so it was easier for our vet to sedate him .... his neck wound all around the neck was quite bad indicating that he had been caught around his neck at some time and underneath was showing signs of infection…

Eli Update
Thursday 29th October 2020
Eli underwent surgery yesterday for Cryptorchidism..... He had one small retained testicle and underwent abdominal surgery as the second testicle could not be found. This could be due to his condition Neospora that the second testicle may never have developed. The plan will be for him to undergo tests in 6-8 weeks to see how much testosterone is in his body and take it from there... Eli was also suffering with his paw on his good hind leg and had something going on which the vets were able to explore whilst he was under GA.. It appeared he had a couple of ingrowing hairs which had made him very sore resulting in an infection so this…
Holly Update
Sunday 18th October 2020
Update on Holly.. Arrived very frightened and confused but has thrived in the time she has been with us. She is a superstar. Very pretty girl. Holly loves the companionship of dogs and has drawn strength and comfort from them...Very noticeable from the very beginning how much trust she was placing in me which I am always very aware of. Holly is a sensitive girl and in the right hands will be the most loving, loyal companion. She has drive and is enjoying the world unfold before her.. Holly went on trial to a couple near to me to bond with them and not with me.....They have another Springer Spaniel.. we met last week for a walk and the…

Leo has gone to an active home with plenty of walks and people prepared to help him reach his target weight although I think you can see by the main photo how much weight he has lost. One very happy lovely boy who has slotted right in to a fabulous home. Have a truly wonderful life Leo you are so deserving of everything. x
Eli Update
Wednesday 14th October 2020
would like to thank Claire Hucker Owner of Chapel Farm Rehab ... Pensford . Truly humbled yesterday .. in fact I burst into tears ... when I learned that Eli will have free hydrotherapy, which he has had since we took him in at a very young age... The staff we nicknamed ‘Eli’s Angels’ were there to receive him and he bounded in enjoying the fuss and attention. Hydrotherapy is an important part of Eli’s well being... relieving the stress off his joints & his back enabling the water to take the weight of his body ... You can see clearly in this clip how the right hind is strong and kicks back like a frog .. but the left…

Final Farewell to Rachel
Wednesday 7th October 2020
The sun rise this morning brought a calmness to the day...... Today was the day we all said Good Bye to Rachel. Both Eli & Mutley were present at the funeral with Claire from Chapel Farm Rehab and Myself. These dogs were Rachels life and with her at the end so it was befitting they were present which had been arranged by Rachels brother. Rachels passion for animals spilled over in volumes, a truly humble woman who loved the simple things in life and would do anything she could to help anyone. Rachel adopted Eli who has Neospora from us....We provided full Back up throughout his adoption due to the nature of his condition. Rachels's dedication to Eli has…
